MEGA YDC 2012: Fashion Statements for the Changing Weathers of the Philippines

Two challenges are done with only 13 aspiring

designers making it through the last cuts. Five designers were already eliminated as the

challenges in MEGA’s Young Designers Competition (YDC) 2012 heat up. In a surprising

twist, three designers were sent home during the last challenge since they failed to show a

fashion forecast fit for 2012.

The weather of the country urges fashionistas to be more practical with their choice of

clothes. From the “Proud to Be Me” and the “Fashion Forecast” challenge, the remaining

designers will showcase pieces that can be worn for both the dry and wet season of the

Philippines. Midway through the competition, who has survived?

As they unveil their versatile outfits, the designers are aware that getting the fashion

As the challenges in MEGA’s Young Designers

Competition 2012 begin, let’s take a look on each of the designers

will battle for their mark in the industry.

Dino Bancoro recently started as a fashion designer sharing that the pieces he presented

during the audition were his first ever creations. Through YDC, he hopes to learn more on

pattern making and sewing since he has yet to formally study fashion design. He admits

that he still needs polishing but is proud to say that he has the vision and creativity that

would amaze people.

Ann Lorio is an industrial engineer from Cavite who wanted to shift to fashion design.

Despite her parents’ initial doubts on her dream, she travelled to Manila and worked to buy

a sewing machine. After seeing her passion, her parents eventually showed support to her.

With her background in engineering, Ann attacks a design starting with the structure. As a

YDC contestant, she wants to learn and make her mark as a designer.

Ann Lorio

Ched Dalogaog is a fashion instructor at one of the top fashion schools in Manila. He tells
a story with his creations, incorporating pop culture and considering the modern women
who will wear them. He believes his edge is his understanding of color, textures and fabrics
that other designers take for granted. By joining YDC, he hopes to establish a brand that he
can introduce to MEGA, hoping to also be acknowledged in the industry.

Ched Dalogaog

Corleen Duero specializes in constructing basics but still adding a touch of style. Hailing all
the way from Surigao, Corleen is proud to represent the south and hopes to be a designer
who can bridge fashion and design from Manila to Mindanao. He admires Issey Miyake,
always remembering the quote of the designer, “These clothes are no wrappings, you can
understand them the way you want, you can wear them the way you want.”

Cristian Mallabo believes that God has a purpose why he’s alive and in the competition.
His mother attempted to abort him but he survived. For as long as he can remember, he’s
had a passion for clothes. He was motivated when friends and family started to ask him to
create party clothes for them. He wants to be known as a designer who can brave through
any challenge and hopes to win in order to give back to his aunt and sisters.

Erica Panlilio hopes to dress up Katy Perry because of her fun playful personality. She
started looking up and imbibing the stylish attitude of her grandmother when she was
young. During the go-see, she had a major setback because the judges thought that she
had a styling problem. Still, she was chosen to be one of the finalists and she believes that
through YDC, she can grow and become a top designer.

Enrica Panlilo

Geoffrey Zordilla has always wanted to study fashion design. Initially, he had to struggle
with his parents’ disbelief. Still, he pursued his dreams and is currently a fashion design
student. He is enthusiastic to experience YDC’s challenges and to learn how to mingle
with fellow designers. Nature inspires him, feeling relaxed and comfortable in its serene
environment.

Geoffrey Zordilla

Hazel Cargado is a registered nurse. However, after graduating and passing the board,
Hazel felt lost. Eventually, she decided to go back to what she really wanted. After finding a
fashion design school in Manila, she quickly grabbed the opportunity to learn. Through
YDC, she hopes to find her personal directions in design.

Ismael Palma tried his luck during the auditions for the first season of Gen M: YDC but did
not make the cut. At that time, he still did not know how to sew so he took his failure as an
opportunity to improve. He decided to learn more about sewing and developing his
designs. He was accepted this year and shares that whatever the judges say, he will keep in
mind and apply.

Ismael Palma

Kirby Cruz wants to represent his feelings through his designs. His goal is to have an
identity that makes his pieces unique. As a fresh fashion graduate, he feels the need for
the right exposure and he believes YDC is the best venue for him. He loves the design of
Hussein Chalayan and Alexander McQueen since Kirby is fascinated where these designers
find their concepts and ideas.

Kirby Cruz

Mara Chua has a motto that anything and everything can be inspiring. He believes that to
be successful, talent is not enough. He sharpened his technical skills in pattern making and
learned sewing through a seamstress who made his clothes. He cites Rei Kawakubo and
Bjork as inspirations that allowed him to expand his horizons and stretch his aesthetic.

Mara Chua

Mary Ty is inspired by YDC alumna Furne One, hoping to be as successful as him. Mary
has never joined a fashion competition because of her fear of rejection. She tried her luck
by joining Philippine Fashion Week but did not succeed. Edwin Ao, another YDC alumna,
urged her to join the upcoming YDC. Her quirky comments amused the judges and are sure
to liven the intense challenges for the YDC hopefuls.

Mary Ty

Nikita Agatha boasts of being able to do anything from scratch. She picked up her flair for
fashion from her grandmother and mom who loved dressing her up when she was little.
She considers Sari Yap, editor in chief of MEGA Magazine, as the judge to please, urging
Nikita to carefully think of her designs. She cites Alexander McQueen as her idol for his out
of this world construction of outfits that women can wear.

Oz Go’s designs dwell on futuristic and experimental looks. At a young age, he discovered
his affinity for fashion when he became obsessed with drawing her mother’s wedding
gown. He took a course in fashion design and eventually mounted a show during Philippine
Fashion Week. Being the younger brother of singer Rachelle Ann Go, he is proud to mention
that they still share the same room and creates outfits for her to wear.

Oz Go

Porfi Medina thinks of fashion more as a form of activism and advocacy. When he was in
elementary, Porfi’s grandmother opened a dress shop. At that tender age, he would observe
the fabrics and sewing, starting his dream to become a fashion designer. He views his
craft as a form of expression, translating social issues and its relevance into ensembles. He
wishes to convey a message on pressing issues in society with every design he makes.

Profi Medina

Ram Silva designs for a cause. He intends to help the dying weaving community in Panay
and Iloilo. During the go-see, judges were surprised with his mix of native materials to
create a modern look. He keeps in mind the advice of Sari Yap, EIC of MEGA magazine, that
what other designers learn outside in six months to a year, they can experience and learn in
YDC in two months.

Ram Silva

Renan Pacson simply wants to make his family proud. He initially took up Hotel and
Restaurant Management but eventually found his calling in fashion. He studied Clothing
Technology and was lucky to have the support of his parents. Luckily, he was accepted not
based on his audition pieces, but based on how he packaged himself. His biggest challenge
is to find his signature aesthetic and intends to find this in YDC.

Renan Pacson

Robin Gundran is the youngest member of this year’s competition. At 18 years old, he
showed his creations and wowed the judges during the go-see. He received negative
remarks from a lot of people who did not believe in his passion. However, he turned this
into his motivation. He knows that with perseverance, he can show his detractors that he
can get past them, and achieve fame and success.

So on Dec 5th, our company had a Christmas party. Hosted by Luis Manzano and Joey Mead at Harbor Garden Tent in Sofitel Manila. Of course, I attended the party. The party was entitled Glam Slam, it was a combination of music and fashion. Harbor Garden Tent is really big, a great venue for big parties (nag-plug lang. hahaha).And for my outfit that night, inspired by Peter Pan. :]

MEG Up & Coming Party Series: Fashion Bloggers Night

So at long last, I had a chance to attend one of MEG's Up & Coming parties. 3 parties yung na-missed ko! Kalokaaaaa!!! Hahahha. I attended the last leg of Meg's party series.

It was on Nov 25th at KYSS. First time ko mag-KYSS, it is nice but it's kinda small, I think. Or it looked small bec we were crowded?! A lot of people attended the party, in freshness!

10th Edition MEGA Young Designer’s Competition

The longest running fashion competition in the Philippines is back once again to introduce the

newest additions to Philippine fashion. MEGA Young Designers Competition (YDC) was created

by Sari Yap, founder of the MEGA Publishing Group and EIC of MEGA magazine, to highlight the

immense talents of aspiring Filipino designers. She envisioned a gathering of creative minds that

can bring Philippine fashion to the runways of the world.

The competition opened doors for countless designers to find their niche and establish their names

in the industry. As the new season of YDC officially begins on November 26, 2011, MEGA looks back

and highlights past designers who have been part of the competition.

Russel Villafuerte, winner of the 9th edition of YDC, shared, “It’s such a great privilege to be part

of that elite group of top designers in the country who joined YDC.” Something for viewers to look

forward to, Russel revealed his experience. “You get to see a lot of things in the challenges like

making gowns and couture in just 8 hours!”

For the first female designer winner of YDC, Vanessa Ang was happy to mention that YDC opened

a lot of doors in her career. “I got to meet a lot of people and got invited to all these fashion events

that introduced me to different people and provided me with more knowledge on the industry.”

Dubai based Furne One - who was part of the first YDC competition - has already made an

international mark with his designs. International celebrities Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry and Nicki

Minaj are some of the artists who have already worn his outfits in various occasions.

Other notable fashion figures who joined the competition are some of the Philippine’s most revered

designers like Rajo Laurel, Raoul Ramirez, Mich Dulce, Ivarluski Aseron, Chris Diaz, OJ Hofer,

Patrice Ramos-Diaz and the internationally acclaimed Veejay Floresca to name a few.

The question is, “Who is the next?”

It is through fashion that designers tell their story of inspirations and creations. The highly

anticipated YDC constantly looks for designers who have fresh and innovative concepts to prove

that they deserve their needed break in the industry. Watch once again as the passion, aesthetic and

Shangri-La's Retail to Runway Holiday Fashion Show

I went to Shangri-La Mall yesterday to attend a fashion show.I don't have an outfit pic bec I was alone. Hahaha. The show was really interesting and fun. My eyes enjoyed a collectionof gorgeous garments and bags!!!
So avid style setters and mall guests enjoyed a stylish sampling of the fashionable Yuletied season to come as Shangri-La Plaza recently unveiled the year's most coveted holiday looks at it's annual Holiday Fashion Show at the mall's Grand Atrium, Level 2.
Title Retail to Runway, this year's fashion feat saw an eye-catching combinationof the holiday season's key trends taking to the ramp via stylized ensembles by participating brands: Accessorize, Anthem, A/X, Bauhaus, Bergamo, Bossini, Celine, CMG, Crossings Dept. Store, Daniel Hecter, Debenhams, Diesel, Furla, Gap, Izod,K&Co., Kenneth Cole, Mango, Marks & Spencer, Massimo Dutti, Michael Kors, Mico Boutique, M)Phosis, Nautica, Original Penguin, Pab Der Uomo,Raoul, Rustan's Dept. Store, The Travel Club, Topshop, Warehous and Zara.
The first show, which I missed, was styled by Ferdi Salvador and John Lozadaof the F.A.S.H. team, the key to functional fashion is Street Luxe.
Next on the runway, which I was so early, were the standout style statements put together by Metro Magazine's Fashion Editor Mela de Lun, dubbed Eclectic Vintage.

And finally, as a fitting finale, a decadent mixture of lavish and opulent holiday looks took center stage with Luxury, which featured the styling skill of Mega Magazine's Fashion Editor Angela Alarcon.

The show was a blast! Saw some interesting pieces which I would like to buy. Organizers put me in the front row seat. Nakakatawa pala pag nasa front row kakasi makikita mo yung mga pinagsasasabi nung mga models. HahahaEsp when they were wearing heavy pieces like coats! Hahaha. Pawis na pawis sila! I can hear them cursing the coat, esp the boys! Hahahaha
But the show was really amazing! The clothes and bags that they presentedwere really stunning. Thank you so much Ms. Denise Pantano for the invite!

Launch of the Philips PowerLife Steam Iron

So Jeri Lim and Philips invited me to attend the launch of Philips new iron, it is called PowerLife Steam Iron. The event was held at The Establishment in the Fort Bonifacio Global City.

I don't wanna go there alone so I asked Jeri if I can bring some companions.

I asked Pauly and April to join me to the event. So kami ulet magkakasama. Hehe.

Before the fashion show started, The Establishment served us a great set of menu.

Grabe yung food, YUMMY!!! And overflowing!! Hahaha. My favorites are the US Angus Beef Mao Zuke (beef bbq) and Crispy Chicken Porsticker. Oh diba?! TIMAWA lang?! Hahaha

After that sumptuous meal, the Fashion Institute of the Philippines (FIP) presented a fashion show. The designers used the PowerLife iron to remove the crease on the clothes.

These 2 dresses are nice! And check out the shoes!!!

And YES!!! I crush this guy!!! Ang tangkad nya, promise. And he's so cute. Hahaha

After that amazing fashion show, they showed us how this steam iron works.

It's a pretty cool steam iron, it comes with some kikay colors. Ehehe

I was really amazed when they used this PowerLife steam iron on a silk dress.

The other brand damaged the dress. It's like the other brand

made a cut on the dress. Then when they used Philips Powerlife,

nothing happened to the dress. PowerLife removed the crease on that dress.

Again, I would like to thank Ms. Jeri Lim and the Fleishman-Hillard team for

inviting me to this event. :]

MEGA Fashion Crew Grand Finale: A FULL STYLE COMBAT FOR THE GRAND FINALE

Sixty contenders originally battled it out for the race to become MEGA’s Top Fashion Crew. The

ending is near and the final challenges will play the most crucial role in the lives of the contestants.

The last ten has bested all the past challenges but only 5 will be chosen. For the final two challenges,

the contestants have to release all their creativity and efforts to win.

The two remaining teams have to first produce a motion editorial. The photographers have to

execute their ideas not just in print, but through a video that will establish their edge. The fashion

stylists, make-up artists and hair stylists have to produce the look that will work and highlight the

photographer’s vision. Last, the model must not just pose for the camera but act out the scenes to

complete the motion editorial.

The final challenge is one of the main highlights that will solidify one’s mark in the fashion industry.

The team will be tasked to produce a MEGA magazine cover. Being the best fashion magazine, it

has always been a great pressure to put together the look of the cover. The cover must convey the

content and feel of the entire magazine. The challengers will know first-hand what it takes and what

must be done to perfectly execute the glossy cover of a magazine.

This is the final episode that everyone shouldn’t miss!

Everyone has witnessed the struggles and triumphs of everyone through all the challenges. Still,

friendships and bonds were formed in the course of the competition. Their skills have been tested

with their creativity improved. Now, it all boils down to the final judgment for the last ten finalists.

The Final Stages to Becoming the Best

Weaknesses were overcome, challenges were surpassed, and two teams have survived.

MEGA, the Philippines’ best fashion magazine, has brought out only the best people deserving to be
part of the fashion industry. Sixty contenders initially made the cut but only ten remain for the grand
finale. With only two episodes left, the battle to reach the top grows more intense.

The last episode gave a glimpse of the journey to becoming the last two teams of the MEGA Fashion
Crew. Everyone saw the hardships and victory that all the challengers went through. The remaining
teams have reached this far. To prove that they’re the best, a tougher round of challenges will be in
store for them.

Four challenges will be given during the first round. Each challenge will highlight the skills of each
member from the hair stylist, make-up artist, fashion stylist, photographer and model. Teams will put
together a photo layout for L’Oreal Paris, a beauty shot for Maybelline, a fashion page for FILA and an
ad for ZenZest. Each member will lead the teams through the different challenges, highlighting their
niche in the industry.

Watch as special guests top model Borgy Manotoc and fashion enthusiast and columnist Tim Yap add
the extra flair as they become part of the challenges in this episode.

The four challenges will bring out the different strengths of each member. In the first part of the
grand finale, everyone will know the reason why the remaining challengers are still in the game.
Their edge in the industry will be further revealed; the creative skills of each will be tested.

But in the end, only one team will be crowned MEGA’s Top Fashion Crew.

I know you guys already saw the cover of MEGA and Preview magazines. And since we're already in the middle of the month, I think you guys already have both copies KALERKS diba?! It's like a "magazine-cover-orgasm"!
The first cover I saw (of course on Facebook) was MEGA's. Paris Hilton!!! SORRY!!!!

BONGGA!!! The first thing that came into my mind when I saw this cover, how much did MEGA pay for her to be on that coverrr!?And then after a few minutes, I saw Preview's!!! Hindi sya nagpakabog. Back-to-back cover!!!

Preview put 7 of the most talented young actresses(but I'm not sure with Sam Pinto and Danita Paner. AY!) in Philippine showbiznezzz.

From ABS-CBN ( Julia Montes, Kathryn Bernardo & Megan Young), TV 5 (Jasmine Curtis Smith & Danita Paner) and GMA 7 (Sam Pinto & Kylie Padilla). On this back-to-back cover, Julia Montes and Jasmine Curtis Smith caught my attention.
And after seeing the cover of Preview, the question how much MEGA paid Paris was answered! CHARRR!!!
And of course, I got each copy of these magazines! I don't wanna miss both covers. I'm hoping the insides are good to. I am so having a magazine-orgasm right now!!! UHHH!!!

The Quest for the Best New Young Designer

As the Philippines’ best fashion magazine, MEGA has consistently kept a sharp eye
for young talents who can continue to bring innovative designs to the fashion scene.
Generation MEGA’s Young Designers Competition (YDC) provides aspiring designers not
just a break in the industry, but the opportunity to highlight their aesthetic for the public
to see. The competition has paved the way for Rajo Laurel, Oj Hofer, Furne One, Patrice
Ramos-Diaz, Aries Lagat, Mich Dulce, Ivarluski Aseron, Veejay Floresca, and Vanessa Ang
among others to establish their names in the fashion industry. During the first ever telecast
of YDC, Russell Villafuerte was crowned as the first grand prize winner.

MEGA once again opens its doors for the 10th edition of YDC. A screening will be held to
serve as a venue for aspiring designers to showcase their creations. Participants must
convince the esteemed panel of judges that they are worthy to be featured on the pages of
MEGA. This is the second time that participants will be given a once in a lifetime chance to
showcase their fashion flair on television. The story of their determination will transpire in
front of millions of viewers, anxious to meet the newest additions in the fashion industry.

Deadline for confirmation is on October 10, 2011. Designers must submit a 500 word
essay about who they are, and present two works (one formal and one casual wear) during

Launch of MEGA Style Spies

So Megastyle.ph, MEGA Magazine and Eastwood Mall launched the latest fashion project to hit the city: MEGA Magazine Style Spies at Eastwood Mall.
The event happened at the Eastwood Mall Ground Floor Atrium, where Manila's front-runners in fashion, styling and blogging were invited.
This unique partnership is a three-month long endeavor in which members of the MEGA and Megastyle team spot stylish individuals at Eastwood Mall every Friday of the week.
Men and women of all ages are invited to dress in their most fashionable ensemble from Sept to Dec to get a chance to be photographed and featured in Megastyle.ph.
And for my outfit, I have to admit, I was inspired by Cristine Reyes' purple outfit in her movie No Other Woman.
If you haven't seen the outfit, you should see the movie!!!

Kris Andres invited me to attend the event then I invited Jaja. So Jaja and I went to the event, but unfortunately, we were so late, like what Kris said, fashionably LATE!

So I met Kris Andres for the first time and he is really nice. He and Cedrick waited for us,as in inintay lang talaga nila kami.

Hype is building as the remaining teams feel the pressure to prove that they should be

MEGA’s Top Fashion Crew. As a final twist last episode, no teams were eliminated during the
last challenge. But for this week, good will not be enough.

The teams have made it this far and the judges are expecting only the best among the best.

MEGA's Magic 4

People always view beauty as seemingly effortless. In reality, it requires a lot of work to
create an image worthy of perfection. It also needs quite a great deal of attention to achieve.
This week’s challenge will show beauty in different aspects and stretch the contenders’
creative ideas further.

A three pronged challenge awaits contestants as they strive to be the final two.

Contestants will have to show beauty through three different mediums: a print ad; a
television commercial; and a fashion show. The teams have already executed fashionable
photos and a stylish runway show. But will they be able to pull-off a tv commercial for a
product feature?

So we attended the event of Moonfire Events Inc. entitled Young and Reckless, it was last night.
Jaja's blog JAJACHUA.com was actually one of the media partners. It was a combination of rakrakan and entreprenuership event.

MEGA Fashion Crew Ep 8: HIGH STREET SURPRISE

The street provides the setting for this week’s challenge. Like avenues and streets in the
urban jungle, challengers must find their way around twists and turns to reach their goal.
Working with the theme “High Street Fashion”, challengers will be faced with a lot of firsts
in this episode.

Aspiring Mega Fashion Crew contestants will have to face their newest challenge yet.

50th Avenue at Robinson’s Galleria partners with the Mega Fashion Crew. The challenge
proves to be a stressful but special feat as teams will be working on the first anniversary
ad campaign of 50th Avenue. The final looks will be featured at 50th Avenue’s display
window. Challengers will conceptualize to show their take on high street fashion.

One of the teams tries to get the perfect shot along the streets of Makati.

A first in the competition, teams will be doing the photo shoots on the streets. Watch to
see how the contestants work through the uncontrolled environment outdoors. The team
that survives shooting on the city streets will emerge as the victors for this challenge.

As another first, the guest mentor will double as the guest judge. In this challenge, high
street fashion will determine who stays and who leaves. Those who find the right route
are deserving to still be in the race to be Mega’s Top Fashion Crew.

So Golden ABC (GABC), the country's fashion pioneer and owner of leading brands Penshoppe, Oxygen, ForMe, Memo and Regatta, on it's 25th anniversary recently launched an innovative corporate social responsibility (CSR) platform, entitled "Get Up". The press/bloggers conference was held at Museum Cafe in Greenbelt 5 on Aug 25. And YES!!! Like the other events that I attended to, I was late. Hahaha. I'm really sorry Ms. Jeri Lim. And I thought I'll be alone that night but good thing April and Pauly joined me.

Anyway, to be honest, I was not sure if I'll go because I really didn't know what CSR meant. AY!!! But I thought since it's a project of Golden ABC, a company that owns fashion brands, I thought it will have a mix of fashion. And I was so right. GET UP is a CSR platform which engages customers in raising awareness of GABC's various advocacies in education, community building, environment, and of course arts &amp; culture. And since it was a bloggers' launch, I met some of the fashion and lifestyle bloggers around the metro.

Get Up's ambassador, CNN Hero of the Year of 2009 Efren Peñaflorida was there. We had a chance to talk to him and he's really nice and great. Syempre may picture picture with him.

It was an honor to meet Mr. Efren Peñaflorida.

It's the launch of a fashion film entitled "Dear Manang, I Love You", a film by Matthew Valeriano written by Ehiacinth Miranda with music from Lintech under Versa-Vise Productions. Styled by Eric Poliquit and photographed by Enzo Mondejar, hair and make up by Nina Dumpa, accessories from OS and wardrobe from Paradigm Shift. OH DIBA?! FULL FORCE!!! It was held at 7th High in Bonifacio High Street.

Last night of Aug 25, I attended 3 events in just one night!!! Lagare?! Anyway, it was all about fashion. The first event was an exhibit of FIP (Fashion Institue of the Philippines) graduates. Well there was a fashion show too. My dear friend, a very good photopgrapher (NAKS), Paul "Pauly"Canlas presented his works in this exhibit. The exhibit was entitled Victoria Victoria.

MEGA Make-over, Fashion Crew Edition

A bigger, bolder, better MEGA Fashion Crew was revealed in its fourth installment that aired on Saturday, August 20. A total make-over would be an understatement. It was more of a “make-better” episode. From the get-go, a more glamorous opening billboard and a sleeker, more stylish set

greeted the viewers.

According to MEGA Fashion Crew host and judge Sari Yap, “In MEGA, no one uses the term ‘make-over’. Instead, we say ‘make-better’. It simply means to make something better”. She further explained that everyone can be good. But sometimes, we need to present that goodness in a different perspective, in a way that can help one be better than everyone.

In line with the show’s new look, the fashion crew contenders also underwent a make- better. MEGA Fashion Crew mentors Suki Salvador and Meryll Yan challenged the participants’ determination and pushed them to their limits, proving that there’s still much room for growth. There has never been a better time for a make-better for the challengers, as they also encountered what may be the first of many conflicts they will be facing, something they need to get used to to survive in this industry.

A week before, MEGA asked the challengers to send them their photos for an online promotional campaign. However, the contestants reacted negatively to the request and expressed dissatisfaction by posting uncalled for comments on MEGA Fashion Crew’s group page. The comment caught the attention of the MEGA Fashion Crew mentors. Soon after, a comment thread formed in response to this comment.

Incidentally, fashion stylist Tsard Chua, the one who initiated the post, was eliminated. Also, makeup artist Sam Unson-Gallardo left the competition because of her son’s medical condition. MEGA Fashion Crew judges got teary eyed as Gallardo bid farewell. Even guest judge, fashion icon and blogger, Divine Lee.

Chanelling Pocahantas! This post is actually for a fringey top that I got from a thrift shop. Hahaha. I'm not a fan of fringes but when I saw this top, napa-WOW ako. Ang lakas maka-Topshop Fall Collection.

At first I was doubting if I'll get it bec of those fringes. But it's really nice, I guess. Ehehe. And since my hair is growing so fast, ang haba na niya, I tried to do a half pony tail. HAHAHA. Jaja calls it half moon, eh I'm not sure what you call it so yun na!

To be honest I was not aware with this scandal until MEGA sent me an email about this article. One of our country's top designers, Puey Quiñones, is talk of the town because of this alleged "fashion scam". Last night at Fever Lounge, we attended a photo exhibit by Paul Cortes entitled CHIAROSCURO.

The photos are amazing!!! Congrats Mr. Paul Cortes and the rest of the team!!! And the party was fantastic! And it was my first time to experience FEVER Luxe Lounge which is in Sofitel Manila. We were late, as the ever the usual, but we were on time for the "open bar". And my outfit that night...

Ms. Yap has always been known to be a trailblazer and an advocate of world-class Filipino talent. Aside from gracing the spreads of top fashion magazines and being on countless billboards as an image model for different brands, she is also a lifestyle columnist for one of the leading broadsheets in the country. It is no wonder she a lot going on as she was an honor student at the Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She has also been a radio DJ,a veteran PETA pal promoting vegetarianism, and she is also the first certified integral yoga instructor in the Philippines.

He's always doing this for his wifey, April, who's one of my gurlies. Anyway, this is the easiest and the most fun DIY I did. Hahaha. You just need a shirt (old or new) and a pair of good scissors.

Well, bago kami nag-Attica, we had a dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. The original plan was to eat at A Veneto Napolli Pizzeria. Eh super jam-packed, daming tao! We saw CPK, the place is amazing tas wala pang masyadong tao, so pinag-desisyonan na namen dun.

CPK's menu is amazing, esp their pizza! YUMMY! and for the pasta, Kung Pao is my favorite.

Eto ka, they gave gifts! Tas syempre may eksena ng gift-giving.

So last July 15, before we attended the tequila launch party, Pauly, Apes and I went to The Rockwell Tent to visit the SuperSale Bazaar. There was a lot of choices and good stuffs! I was not prepared that time so I didn't have enough money to buy some amazing things like wedges from Das and Five by Five. The wedges from Das are really amazing, PROMISE! Anyway, here are the things I got from the bazaar.

The Bar's Tequila Launch Party

I want to thank my dearest friend Apple Dalanon from Emeperador Distillers, for inviting us to attend The Bar's Tequila launch party at Manor last night, July 15. Thank you so much Apple! Hosted by the boys of Magic's 89.9FM Boy's Night Out, free shots of the new The Bar's Citrus Tequila and lots of The Bar drinks (of course), that party was a blast! Sad thing DSLR camera is not allowed inside Manor so we didn't have a chance to take photos of the happenings inside, body shots and the dance floor with lots of small but cute guys. Pero promise, the party guys in Manor are small, I mean in height, pero cute naman sila in all fairness. Ehehe. Anyway, something happened to me, it was actually the highlight of our night! Hahaha. Jaja, April and some people saw it pero it was really funny and super embarrassing!That was my first time in my partying career! Hahaha

I was strolling in a mall when I passed by Jellybean and saw these wedges. I rarely see wedges in a store except for Forever21 or Topshop, I'm talking abt closed wedges ah. Anyway, mejo hesistant pa ako if I'll check it or not because of the color, it's electric blue, like really electrifying! Pero syempre, since it's a pair of wedges, hindi ako nakatiis. I asked the saleslady and I was shocked with the price. They were on sale and I got a 50%discount. Nalerkey ako and I bought it immediately.

Our Boracay Experience: June 10-12, 2011

So I went to Boracay with my best friends. We planned to go there a long long time ago and on June 10-12, it became successful. The date was not so good because the month of June is the start of wet season, pero sorry, hindi kami nagpa-pigil! Go to Bora pa rin!

The travel hour was kinda long but it was worth it. We arrived in Boracay like 7pm so we decided to buy "pasalubong" to save time and to see the whole Boracay sea shore. So we went to D'Mall to buy some pasalubong and stuffs.

Our second day was the most exciting part because we did almost all of the activities that you can do in Boracay. Well, except for Banana Boat (which they don't like), Flying Fish (which looks funny), and Para-gliding (which is expensive). We did island hopping (so tiring), snorkeling (I had fun feeding so many fish), Helmet diving (which was really scary but fun), and we went to Puka Beach.

And of course, we didn't forget to PARTEY in Boracay! Papalagpasin ba naman ang tipar?! Of course NOT!!! We had so much fun and I saw a lot of Korean and Chinese cute guys. :]]

Our last day, of course we went home. Hahaha. Bitin sya, I have to admit. But I had fun! I really love Boracay. Before I went to Bora, I heard so many good things about the place.

They are so right, Boracay is a really beautiful place. I'll go back there, and that's for sure! :]

I am so happy with this blazer that I got from Ukay (thrift shop). The first time I saw it, I was kinda hesitant to buy it because it's kinda long, but when I tried it, PERFECT! And I was shocked because it's from Marks & Spencer. A Marks &Spencer blazer in Ukay! It's crazy, right?!

Stars for Wet Season

I got this sweater dress from Ukay (thrift shop). The stars are interesting because they feel hairy. Hahaha. I think they're made of hair or something. Anyway, since wet season is around the corner, I am looking for long sleeves and knits for my closet. Grey, subtle colors like beige and peach (I guess) are on my check boxes in finding clothes and pieces for the next season.

Night of Firsts: Launch of Elite Manila and The Fashion Academy Manila

Last night,May 18, at A-Venue Mall, Elite Model Management Manila and The Fashion Academy Manila were officially launched. I'm one of the bloggers who GeislerMaclang invited to see an exclusive sneak peek of what these 2 fashion institutes will bring to us. I'm really happy and excited to share what happened last night. It was one of the most FAB nights I've had, ever! Full of art, fashion and celebrities, and I felt I was a celebrity too, CHARING! Hahaha. But seriously, it was like a fashion/art gala.

Pauly, Apes and I attacked the event! Thanks lovers! :]

Look at the crowd! Most of them were media people.

We've seen a collaborative exhibit by famed and award-winning designers of Team Manila, ace lensman Xander Angeles of Edge of Light Studios, and guest creative director Raymond Gutierrez.

The photos are really interesting and so creative. And I have my favorites, there were two photos that caught my attention.

Please don't ask me why I liked these photos! :] Borgy was not there but Frank was present. I didn't know who Frank Magalona was, I didn't know Maxene has a hot brother! Although Elmo is cuter than Frank, Elmo is too young. Ehehe. Anyway, I spotted some interesting people both in fashion and showbiz.

Pauly, Apes and I were really amazed how gorgeous Liz Uy. After seeing her in person, I can consider her as one of the most beautiful women I've seen. I was starstruck-ed, teh! I had a chance to get some shots with Solenn Heussaff, Maxene Magalona and much more. I'll post the photos after Pauly uploaded it. Ehehe.

And to summarize the whole experience, Pauly, Apes and I enjoyed the night. Kyss provided the after-party, there were food and drinks, interesting people, art and fashion. I would like to thank Ms. Avery and GeiserMaclang for the invite. I had so much fun!

Last week, I ordered a pair of shoes from GoldDot (golddot.multiply.com) and I got them like after 3 days. I was so surprised because it was really fast. Anyway, I ordered these black Carrie Boots.

I was really excited to wear them and flaunt them so I wore them the next day and my officemates were really stunned by these wonderful shoes! I partnered them with this tiger printed shirt from Primadonna, which I really love as well.

But to be honest, I was worried because the earthquake might hit Makati but it didn't. And the tsunami as well, it didn't happen. Thank God!

Anyway, I am actually spying the trend for FW 2011 even if I am at work, taking calls. I am visiting Style.com to check some of the trends for this year's Fall Winter collections. OK! Unlike last year's FW which was full of grey, beige and subtle colors, what I noticed for this year's FW trend are colors and prints (actually, colored prints). Even Commes Des Garcons goes for colored prints.

To be honest, colored prints is hard to WERQ! I guess because there's so much going on with prints. Colored prints is fun though, I think. Ehehe. But of course (if you'll check Style.com) black, grey, beige and subtle colors are still in FW 2011 collections. Well, I guess I'll be putting some colored prints in my closet but I really like minimal, simple, and subtle style. I like stripes though! CONNECT?! Hahaha.

I know, haven't updated my blog for a while. I was kinda busy this past few weeks because of the changing of my schedule. Anyway, last night, we went to two parties. The first one was the "pool side" party at Diamond Hotel. I don't have any photos from that party because Pauly has all of the photos in that event. I'll post some when Paul uploaded it on Facebook.

A Lazy Afternoon

I met Jaja today because of a mission, well it was not an impossible mission but it was a mission! And I think we were successful, right Jaja?! :]

Sweet Revenge - REPUBLIQ

Remember my post No Republiq, Yes Attica? Last Saturday night, we did the revenge! We went to Republiq in Resorts World.

Sad thing about that night, DSLR cameras are not allowed inside the bar but digicams are OK. And that is why our photos inside the bar are not so good. Ehehe. So digicam-ish!

After the party, we went to McDonald's, as the ever the usual. And we saw some familiar faces that we met inside the bar. It was really funny 'cos it's like there was an after-party-party in McDonald's that time. Haha Anyway, bottom-line is we had FUN! No words can explain it, just photos! :))
